I disagree

He did wrong, but he is clearly the best Center back in the roster. We need him if we want to win.

Hasta el final, vamos Real.

He maybe..

…but this team doesn’t have much roster depth to leave him completely off the squad.

You don’t let a guy play who’s blatantly tried to injure people. Several times he’s done this and clearly he needs more than just a talking to. By playing him tonight it shows me that winning is more important than respect for our opponent. This club has a great history and players like him do not deserve a place in the team. We have Varane, Carvalho and players from Castilla we are capable of playing for the first team. There’s no reason why he should be playing tonight.

by MychalShannon1 on Jan 25, 2012 9:53 PM CET up reply actions

I’d be more than happy if he never played for us again.

by MychalShannon1 on Jan 25, 2012 9:54 PM CET up reply actions

So many things wrong with what you just said..

…I have no idea where to start. Carvalho is over there hill and pretty much worthless, he showed that last week. Varane while I’d agree, I’m not ready to throw him to the wolves and possible stunt his growth as a CB. And really? Castilla? Again, taking some youngster who’s never played senior team football and throw him in the mix against Barca? I think not. Whether you like it or not, Pepe is our best option. And he’s not going anywhere.

I’d rather lose 10-0 than be violent but that’s just my my opinion. We’ll just have to agree to disagree about this one because there’s no way im changing my mind.

Benzema is more of a direct striker..

…Higauin can create space and make darting runs behind or at the defense.

the thing is

Benzema shines with the ball. Higuaín shines without it. And FC Barcelona is going to have a lot of possession

Hasta el final, vamos Real.

Hmm...

Should’ve been a penalty since the ball touched Abidal’s hand.

by Thierry D on Jan 25, 2012 10:45 PM CET reply actions

Damn

that hurts after playing so well for 43 mins.

by Thierry D on Jan 25, 2012 10:47 PM CET reply actions

Well, you know 2 goals I could see..

…but now we need to score 3 to win..at least…ugh

Higuaín could done better but

Ozil and Kaka should create more chances and attack the goal more. But what is clear is we are the better team. We own them thorough the match. If our mentality was right we could have slaughter them.

This is so cruel

We were the dominant team throughout the half and then, BOOM. Two quick goals and our effort worthless. It should have been 4-0 for us had we converted in our chances.

by Thierry D on Jan 25, 2012 10:57 PM CET reply actions

yeah its rough. it was such a great match and then all of a sudden everything went downhill

with the dives, and the cards and the fouls and the fights

just the usual i suppose…

hala madrid!

again??

this is ridiculous…another great start just to not be able to capitalize on sure goals! we should be up at the half.

Pinto is making up for his not so good play in the first leg

This game should be tie at the least. Bad execution.

Though I must say that second goal made me smile a bit. Karma for no red.

There was contact there

But Alves was looking for any reason to go down. I hate how Barca plays. They are so soft

The fighting spirit

That’s what define Real Madrid !!

by Thierry D on Jan 25, 2012 11:54 PM CET reply actions

So much heart on this team

Easy to see they are all pissed at the refs

by galvinx10 on Jan 25, 2012 11:54 PM CET reply actions

Refs had more impact...

on that game than Barca.

Terrible officiating (but that’s expected).

Very proud of Los Blancos. Best draw in recent memory.

by Tab3 on Jan 25, 2012 11:57 PM CET reply actions

Yes, it was terrible how they let Lass get away with that foul, wasn't it?

And it was terrible when they called Pedro offside when he wasn’t.

And it was terrible when they called Alexis offside when he wasn’t.

Could Madrid have benefited from a few 50-50 calls going their way? Sure. You could say the same for Barcelona.

Yet only one team complains about it every match. Por que?

Come April 21 or 22nd

We’ll go back there with fire in our eyes. We were clearly the better team today.

Beyond proud to be wearing my Real Madrid shirt right now.

Though I’m still disappointed that Pepe played…I’m so proud of all of these guys (including Pepe) You can never ever say the game is over with this set we’ve got. Again beyond proud to be a Madridista. I love this club. HALA MADRID!!!!!

by MychalShannon1 on Jan 26, 2012 12:01 AM CET reply actions

I’m very proud of this team, and RM deserved the win, too bad luck wasn’t with us.

And to Barca fans, please never say EVER again that the refs don’t favor you, you’d just embarrass yourselves. When Madrid was close to the 3rd, the ref tipped the scale in Barcelona’s favor, a gol nullified, the Ramos expulsion and everytime a FCB player was stripped of the ball, foul was called against RM. It was so blatant that the guys doing the commentary on DirectTV admitted the ref harmed Madrid’s chances of winning the game.

There’s just this feeling in the back of my mind of what would have happened if Karim had started instead of Higuain, Pipita is a great player, but right now, I think Karim is playing much better than him.

by e-scofield on Jan 26, 2012 12:39 AM CET reply actions

haha Casillas told the referee in the tunnel to go party with barcelona

Im proud of the way Madrid played and acted. Ramos was classy in the way he got sent off and Mourinho was good at the end of the game.

Im in England for school and my friends here don’t get to see La Liga very much and today they were disgusted by the referee and barcelona..
Rio Ferdinand even tweeted “Football is on its way to being a non contact sport the way things are going….disappointing.”

by Sandra_R on Jan 26, 2012 12:55 AM CET reply actions

how I know we played well???

Goal.com barely ever has good things to say about RM but I just read their player ratings and for the first time I didn’t want to cuss the author out. This is how we KNOW we played well today. If a biased site like goal.com can actually give our team props against their precious Barca means we killed it today :)

I just hope and pray people will lay off our players and coach. WE WENT TO CAMP NOU AND DREW!!! this is huge for us and as a die hard fan I’m utterly happy.

We have some problems of course and I’m sure that will be brought up in the recap but for now I’m just proud of my team, our players, and our coach!

Hala Madrid! Hala Mourinho! Hala Benz! Hala Ozil!

Recap is up fellas!

If you could bring the debate up there, that would be amazing. Very interesting things to comment (Granero, Özil, ref…)

Hasta el final, vamos Real.
