LONDON, ENGLAND - MARCH 17: Dr Andrew Deaner (right) walks off the pitch as Fabrice Muamba of Bolton Wanderers is taken off on a stretcher, still unconscious after receiving CPR treatment on the pitch after suddenly collapsing during the FA Cup Sixth Round match between Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane on March 17, 2012 in London, England. The game was abandoned.
Good news, MMers! Fabrice Muamba, who suffered a cardiac event and collapsed on the pitch at White Hart Lane during Bolton's game with Spurs last Saturday, is now awake and talking. Whether he will be able to play again remains an open question, but now it seems as though the immediate danger to his life has passed. We at Managing Madrid express our relief at Muamba being out of danger and hope he continues to make a full recovery and a return to professional football. As the inscription on a card with a Manchester United emblem left at Bolton's stadium while Muamba was in the hospital said, "One game, one family."
