Morata has signed for Real Madrid till 2015, he is a versatile player who can play as a central forward, the play-maker or as the left winger. But Real has almost two players for every position so where does Morata fit in?

Let us consider the central forwards position , we already have Benzema, Higuain and Callejon. So the only chances of Morata playing in this position are at the initial rounds of CDR as a sub, or being a sub when we are winning by a huge margin, or somebody gets injured.

If we consider the playmaker position we already have Ozil and Kaka(from the latest reports it seems Kaka will stay at Real for this season too) , if we go on to buy Modric , I dont see Morata being used in this position too often, unless again some players get injured.

That leaves the Left wing position , Ronaldo plays in that position , although he can play on both wings.But more importantly he plays in the left wing due to his good link up with Marcelo, and in matches where we need to be more defensive we have Contreao so Ronaldo doesn't needs to contribute too much to the defense. Although Di Maria and Contreao formed an electrifying pair on the left wing at Benfica, we play Di Maria on the right because we have a right back Arbeola who needs help defending in big matches. Playing Ronaldo and Arbeola on the right wing can make Real vulnerable to attacks from the right. So Ronaldo will continue to play in the left wing, and he plays every match of the season if he is fit and doesn't gets subbed too often specially if we aren't winning big. So where will Morata play?

For Morata to play and get enough minutes , we need to buy a right back. Lacking a world class right back is the reason Kaka could never earn more minutes in the pitch even when Di Maria was out of form in the latter half of last season, most importantly the Champions league semi finals. And not having a world class right back might turn out to be the reason Morata might never flourish into the player he is capable of becoming.

So my question is why isn't Madrid looking for a solid Right back ? I keep reading reports Maicon will give one leg to come to Real, why don't we get him, he is still world class. Imagine with a world class right back, we can have Contreao and Di maria on the left creating havoc and defending well too, and on the right we can have Ronaldo and Maicon creating havoc. And every once in a while Morata can play and show what he has got.
