Are you thinking about bale by any chance?? He has not signed for us (or at least the last time i checked online 5 minutes back). I am talking about the greatest player of all times IMO - Zinedine Zidane (sorry 7bilal there is only 1 true GOAT & that's Zidane). This is Zizou V 4.0 as an assistant manager of Madrid.
Firstly I would like to introduce Zinedine Zidane to those who don't know about this RM legend (what are you doing on this blog if you don't know him???)
Zinedine Zidane is a once in a lifetime player, he beats defenders with a sublime roulette, create magical assists out of nothing, score from volleys and make it look ridiculously easy. He doesn't score that many goals in his career but he scored when it really mattered at the biggest of the matches, (UCL 2002 & WC 98). He could change the whole match on its head (pun intended... ) with his few silky smooth moves, elegance radiates off him. He was the most complete player of his generation. I can go on about Zinedine Zidane and his beautiful football for another 10,000 words but that is not the main reason behind this fan post. To summarize Zizou is 'THE GALACTICO' of uncle Flo.
" The Roulette / Spin Move " - By Zinedine Zidane (via FutureDesignsVfx)
Zizou as you all know was first advisor to the president then under Mou was the first team's director of football, but that stint didn't even last for a year, he then spent his time in the youth facilities. According to Marca, Zizou didn't side with Mou on his complains about the ref's, causing their relationship to break down.
Going a bit off - topic here, but Mou in his last year at Madrid fought with almost all the players, he fought not only with the 'so called' Spanish contingent, but also fought with the likes of Ozil, Pepe & even Ronaldo his fellow Portuguese. He lost the dressing room, a first for him (since his players at Chelsea & inter still adore him). One of the biggest reason for Mou to loose the dressing room, was his small club mentality (us vs the world mentality), constant complaints about the ref and going a bit over board in the rivalry with Barca. I loved us destroying Barca with Mou the last few times we met them, but he failed to grasp that Madrid is not just any club, it is 'THE CLUB' in football, here we expect to win every single match with entertaining football, we expect fair play from our players and criticize them when their performance is down. The media does it & so do the fans. We are not like any other fans, blind to our team's faults in the support of the club. Fans and media have a huge say in the things that happen at Real, also due the Socio structure in place.
But there is one more reason IMO in Jose loosing the dressing room, is that when Mou tried this mentality & Zizou didn't agree with it, it affected the players(everyone of them looks up to zizou) consciously or sub-consciously. Maybe it was the Zizou style they preferred over Mou's, but most of them got sick of his rants against referees, medias & other teams, but I do believe Zizou parting ways with the 1st team was the early signs of crack in the RM dressing room.
I say this also because when Mou & RM parted ways this summer, uncle Flo went out and said that he wanted Zizou on the hot seat. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1468839/zidane-replace-mourinho?cc=4716
Zidane had already proven himself in uncle Flo's eyes by recommending varane (also they both have a soft spot for a fench cat). Media & RM fans hold Zizou in a special place in their hearts. What could be better them him leading the team to La Decima from the bench, it has a certain fairy tale aspect to that, realistically it wasn't feasible, since Zizou had zero experience in being a manager, and he hadn't even passed with coaching tests then. (he subsequently passed them in July) but yet Uncle Flo was vocal that Zizou will lead the project.
One of the first signings of the Ancelotti era is Zizou as assistant manager (The Galactico Signing), now I will analyze this signing that into the good, the bad & the ugly.
All the players simply love & adore him, they will learn loads from him just being around them. He is a symbol of Madrid and with him on the bench, ours will be the most adored bench which will be a stark contrast to Mou's time here. The press & the fans are all 100% behind Zizou. He is the prodigal son of Perez. But most importantly he & Uncle Carletto can work together, their personalities matches & they even know each other from their time together at the old lady. According to this report Uncle Carletto changed his system to accommodate Zizou in his time at Juventus.
I think Zizou as an assistant manager & as a future manager can lead us to glory, this stint with uncle Carletto adds the final touches & make the Zizou's resume perfect for the hot seat of Madrid & I for one wont be surprised to see him on the white bench as a manager in the near future.
I think Zizou has a tremendous influence in Uncle Flo's office. Was leaving of Pipita at the same time Zizou coming on the bench a pure co-incidence?? Isn't it also strange instead of going after a strong second back up in the striking department to give competition to the french cat we are technically going full throttle to get another left winger /free role attacking player (technically Ronnie's spot in the rooster).
Also without inking the renewal of 'The Gr8 one' (yes you heard it first here) we are going after bale, that too with uncle Carletto's comments of our squad is good enough & dressing rooms disgruntle (of players like ozil, Benz & Di Maria).
Many of us blame Uncle Flo's single minded obsession to rival a Galactico signing in reply to Barca's signing of Neymar. But one of the main key factors is Zizou's recommendation of bale. I think that plays a massive role is Uncle Flo going all guns blazing after the welsh speedster. Zizou has never hidden is admiration for GB, and that weighs heavily in Uncle Flo's opinion.
Let me just put the ugly out there, there is a chance that Zizou knowingly or unknowingly undermines uncle Carletto's authority, which might be a disaster for us in a sporting sense. I hope & prey it doesn't happen. That uncle Carletto, Zizou & the players all live as a happy big family instead of a huge struggle for power & dominion & making of one more camp i.e. the Zizou camp.
I would like to finish this on a positive note, that Zizou brings more positives on the table then negatives, if there is anyone who can control the dressing room & manage the ego's then its the super calm uncle Carletto & the man himself Zizou. I also think this duo can successfully integrate any player into this team and get them to perform well, be it GB, Suarez, or La Fabrica products like Morata, Jesse & Nacho.
Also there could be nothing more romantic in football then Zizou lifting the La Decima as an assistant manager this season.
