Real Madrid Run Out of Luck

Denis Doyle

Let's face it. The team is not playing well and we ran out of good luck against Villarreal.

It could also be argued that Diego López saved Real Madrid and therefore Real Madrid's good luck continues. But this club should always aim for the three points and Villarreal played well enough to stop Ancelotti's good start of the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo's goal was a blessing. You cannot expect to win a game with that kind of goal. And still, Real Madrid had the three points well in hand before Villarreal managed to tie the match up. But as we stated above, Diego López saved Real Madrid more than 5 or 6 times. It seems that López is not happy about Casillas starting against Galatasaray -even though he showed his support and respect for the decision after the game-, because it will be very hard for Casillas to match López's performance. This is the best goalkeeping Real Madrid have seen in quite some years.

Ancelotti needs to answer some tactical questions -we will publish a tactical post soon-, because even though Bale started and scored a goal in his debut, even though Illarra contributed and played well enough, the fans are wondering whether Ancelotti's team has what it takes to win away from the Bernabéu.
