Casillas could be Ancelotti's choice for the Champions League, Mario Gómez said no to Real Madrid plus Illarramendi and Casemiro will have a special training session today.

  • Marca reports that Iker Casillas will be Ancelotti's choice for this Champions League edition. It'd be quite ridiculous to give the most important competition to a goalkeeper that isn't get involved in La Liga, and that's why Marca's piece should be taken with a bit of salt.
  • Mario Gómez was in talks with Real Madrid this summer. That's what he said in an interview with Kicker. He wanted to get out of the bench after a difficult year with Bayern, and that's why he chose Fiorentina, a team in which he will be the starter.
  • Asier Illarramendi, Diego López and Casemiro are Ancelotti's only available players this week. The Italian coach arranged a friendly game against Castilla players to these three guys could make the best out of this week.
  • Finally, Varane, Illarramendi and Gareth Bale should be available to make their season debut at Villarreal (Saturday 14th, 22:00 CET).
