While it's yet to be confirmed by the Real Madrid brass, El Mundo will be reporting tomorrow that legendary striker Raúl, he of the 228 goals in 550 games for Real Madrid, will be returning to the club shortly to serve as the organization's Sporting Director.
Florentino Pérez is apparently offering the club legend the position following the departure of Miguel Pardeza.
Raúl is currently contracted to the club Al Sadd and has been a player for them since 2012. He started his career not as a Real Madrid youth product, but rather one for Atlético Madrid before switching sides. But given that he spent some time on our B team, this could, hypothetically and hopefully, see a bigger emphasis on improving Real Madrid's youth system, especially now another club legend, Zinedine Zidane, has taken over as coach.
Offering him this job knowing about his inexperience in a front office capacity is, admittedly, a risky proposition given the role's responsibility.
