Most figured that after Sergio Ramos injured his hamstring in that 6-2 win over Sevilla, that the Christmas break would help mend that injury and he'd be good to go once the meringues returned to action in their Copa del Ray tie with Malaga on the 3rd of January. Even with that time off, it seems that Ramos wont be ready to the help club try and move on to the next round of the tournament.
On the brighter side of things, Ricardo Carvalho could be ready to see action as he is supposed to be recovered from his back injury that has kept him out of matches for the last three months. So if he is healthy, he'll most likely start in his familiar center-back position.
Also of note, though I'm not sure if it's mention was to stir the pot or what -- but it seems that Kaka is training alright -- just not with the team. He's been off training by himself since their return from break -- which could go to fuel the rumors that Kaka is on his way out of the capital city once the transfer window opens on Sunday. It's also floating around that because of the cup tie coming up with Malaga was moved up -- that it's possible that the team will have to report for training on New Years Day.
The next league tie is January 7th against Granada - we face Malaga again on the 10th.
That's right we get to face the same team twice in the span of a week.
