Breaking News: Neymar and Real Madrid have Agreed on a Salary

Sorry for such a brief post (I'm on my cell phone in a train to Vermont, of all places), but Wagner Ribeiro, Neymar's agent, has confirmed that he has come to an agreement with Real Madrid's Vice President Fernando Fernandez Tapias on a starting salary for Neymar, if and when the young Brazilian phenom decides to play for los blancos. The salary is rumored to be around €5 million per year.

Ribeiro also confirmed that he has spoken to Madrid boss José Mourinho, and that the enigatic coach has given the operation "the go-ahead."

At the same time, however, Ribeiro stressed that the operation was not over, that the negotiations were not "closed," because Neymar is holding fast to his "dream" of leading Santos to the Club World Cup in December--something that Madrid opposes. That's all for now, as it's getting late and my phone is beginning to run out of batteries!
