Real Madrid v. FC Barcelona: Supercopa Return Leg Open Thread

Higuain hugs Messi during the first leg of the Supercopa.

It's almost that time. You know, when our beloved boys in white will run onto the hot, humid pitch in the Nou Camp to a roar of boos. Will they be ready for the onslaught? Only God (and Mourinho) know.

What I do know, though, is that this is the best place to be to talk about the action as it happens. We'll answer all your burning questions like: what suit will Mourinho wear? What would Real Madrid's jersey look like if it was colored red (actually...we put it up on Facebook)? We'll keep you updated on the game, the referee, and yeah, on the state of the tie as a whole as the night progresses.

Also, if you'd like to submit a caption for the picture I chose for this post, please feel more than welcome: it's very oddly surreal, and I could use a laugh today.

STARTING LINEUPS:

FC Barcelona: Valdés; Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Abidal; Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta; Messi, Villa and Pedro.

Real Madrid CF: Casillas; Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Coentrão, Alonso, Khedira, Di María, Özil, Ronaldo and Benzema.

Bit of a shock in Mourinho lineup: Coentrão to start instead of Marcelo. Is the Portuguese coach a little worried about Marcelo's defensive abilities despite his seemingly limitless offensive potential (possibly)? Or is he just favoring his countryman over other players (probably not)? What is clear, however, is that we haven't seen this incarnation of Real Madrid yet. But isn't this an odd time to experiment, Mr. Special One?

For now (because we don't yet have confirmed starting lineups): HASTA EL FINAL, VAMOS REAL!

Update, 4:19 PM EST: While the lineups still haven't been confirmed, we have gotten word that Real Madrid are in the Cap Nou: a por ellos!
