So I'm on vacation right now, as the players--represented by the AFE--and the LFP seem to have come to an impasse in their negotiations to resume play in the Liga BBVA. But I love you all so much that I feel deeply compelled to post some more reaction (well, more like fallout), from Wednesday's Supercopa melee between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

First off, one of my least favorite sports personalities of all time, Joan Laporta, has come out shockingly against Sandro Rossell and the current Barca management:

"I believe that it is the job of the current president of the Club to protect the club, their personnel, and their values." Source: MARCA.com

And, I'm sure no one would be shocked if I happened to mention that Sr. Laporta made these declarations via his Facebook page.

Second, and just as relevant to the situation at hand, Iker Casillas called Barca captains Puyol and Xavi to discuss what went down between the two teams.Apparently, most Real Madrid players were hurt and perplexed by some of the declarations after the match, and Iker wanted to clear that up.

If nothing else, this is a classy move from San Iker.
Well that's all from me for now (I actually am on vacation), but definitely stay tuned to our upcoming articles about racism in Spanish sports: tomorrow we have Josh writing on chanting and vulgarity during matches in particular, and the on Sunday Lucas will write an opinion on the problem from his perspective as a resident and native of Spain.
