Real Madrid V.s. Rayo Vallecano: Post Match Reactions

Without further ado, here's Managing Madrid's post match reactions from last night's 6-2 win against Rayo.

Mourinho, who has definitely been on edge with the press following last week's disappointing results, finally had something positive to discuss with the throng of reporters at the Bernabeau, where he highlighted the character and attitude of the team and also heaped deserved praise on Kaka and Oz

"When you've had a week's worth of negative results what the team needs is to have a good start, to score and to be relaxed. Things get even harder when you're losing 1-0 as soon as the game starts, but character shines through in difficult situations and the team reacted. We had 20 to 25 difficult minutes on the pitch, but we changed, took risks, reacted well and took the lead by half-time."

"... It's a shame I had to replace Kaka when we were down to ten men because he was giving a very good performance...Kaka and Ozil have to be prepared both physically and mentally to adapt to play closer to midfield. It isn't easy for them to do this for 90 minutes. It's risky. They have to be fit and aware that Xabi Alonso can't play alone in midfield for 90 minutes. They both responded very well. They created ball movement and covered Rayo's exits. They played well. It was a situation of risk but they transformed it into a positive scenario for the team."

Speaking of Kaka, the Brazilian play-maker also had some choice words regarding last night's match. Below are two offerings from his interview, and if you so choose so, you can read his full statement here:  

"We didn't play very well in the opening 20 minutes, but I believe we did after that. It's tough to concede a goal at the start of a game, but we showcased character."

"It's difficult to play a perfect home game after playing badly in two consecutive fixtures. This result has helped us recover our confidence. I personally felt great. I try to make good use of the chances I get."
