Question of the Week: Will Barcelona or Real Madrid Win El Clasico 2012?

There two are going to be busy the coming days.
There two are going to be busy the coming days.

Greetings from the land of sand. This is the weekly segment here on Managing Madrid where I walk around my international campus and ask random people of different backgrounds and football loyalties questions about the footballing world and Real Madrid.

Don't tell me you didn't see this coming. Of course this question would be asked, but whether it is difficult or not is up for you to decide.

Two Spanish titans will clash Wednesday evening at the Santiago Bernabeu in a fixture that is always highly anticipated by football fans everywhere. But are we going to see a repeat of the last Clasico or will Real Madrid finally pull off a victory over their Catalan rivals?

The question this week: Which team, Real Madrid or Barcelona, do you think will win the first leg of the 2012 Copa del Rey quarterfinals?

"Here's the truth of it: If Barca is playing all their subs, we have a shot. We [Real Madrid] haven't been at our best lately so the likelihood that we might win isn't high. Sorry Madrid fans, not gonna over-hype this one."

-Dina, Lebanon, Real Madrid

"Barca will win hopefully, but if not, we don't care. This is the least important cup or trophy to win. So even if Real Madrid wins, it won't matter because we don't care about it."

-Mustafa, Egypt, Barcelona

"Madrid for the win hopefully. It doesn't matter if they play with their best or not. A loss is a loss there's no excuses in football. But hopefully Kaka will make a difference in this game."

-Omar, Egypt, Real Madrid

The majority of those interviewed had one word answers, and, unfortunately, that word was many variations of "Barcelona."

So it's not looking too bright right now, madridistas. But what do you think? Take a vote in the poll and/or comment in the comments section. Hala Madrid!
