This transfer window there's been a lot of noise concerning Esteban Granero, who as we know isn't getting much playing time and honestly isn't going to get better sitting on the bench, or watching from the stands. And while Jose Mourinho has for stuck to his "No Transfers" guns -- I don't see why it wouldn't hurt.
It's not like Liverpool are world beaters, and the promise of first team starts could pull him in that direction. King Kenny Dalglish is hoping to temp him with just that -- first team time, but has made it known that he's not going to be spending any big bucks this transfer window, so a loan would be the only way to shore up his squad.
He would most likely be deployed as a linking midfielder, which they really haven't had since Xabi Alonso. And possibly that would be the kind of service that Andy Carroll could use to show why he was worth a £35million transfer from Newcastle last year.
It's not like it couldn't hurt at this point.
The move would keep Granero from rotting on the bench as he's clearly deep on the depth chart at holding midfield. Xabi isn't going to loose his first choice XI spot anytime soon. Will anything come of this? We'll know more in the coming days as the transfer window is quickly coming to a close.
