Pepe Free To Play Today's El Clasico 2012 As RFEF Take No Action On Alleged Stamp On Messi

Pepe cleared to play in today's second leg of the Copa Del Rey quarter finals at Camp Nou.

The Spanish FA met today and came to the conclusion that they will take no action in regards to Pepe's actions last week in the first leg of the quarter finals of the Copay Del Rey. This has been a large topic of debate between both fan bases and as I'm sure you can guess it's gotten heated. Though now I'm pretty sure that FC Barcelona (and their supporters) will complain in some way going into today's match.

It's their M.O., FCB's players constantly whine to the press. Just the other week Xavi was on record as saying that the refs just weren't calling things the Blaugrana's way. And now I'm sure they'll do the same with the RFEF ruling. This means that Pepe is cleared to play, if he's healthy in today's tie. I'm going to say that if Jose Mourinho decides to start him, he'll start in the midfield along side Xabi Alonso, be once again Lionel Messi's shadow.

Pepe shut him down last week and would expect the same here, though if we're being honest -- Messi's road form has been less than Messi, almost the same form he carry's when playing for the Argentinian National team. But he's had a great home form this season. So who better to shut him down, that the one guy who's had success at doing just that. We as Madridista's have to hope that Pepe keeps his head screwed on right.
