CSKA Moscow Vs. Real Madrid, Champions League 2012 Match Preview and Open Thread

via <a href=""></a>

Real Madrid starts again its Champions League run against CSKA Moscow. Mourinho has decided to play Coentrao, Khedira and Callejón instead of Marcelo, Granero and Kaka' for this first leg.

This could be Mourinho's ideal team to play away from the Santiago Bernabéu, with Khedira covering a lot of defensive ground and Callejón doing the exact same thing. The game starts at 18:00 (Spanish time), so it is almost here. You can comment on the game in this very post, the recap will be up shortly after.

CSKA Moscow: Chepchugov, Berezutsky, Ignashevich, Shennicov, Berezutsky, Aldonin, Wernbloom, Tosic, Musaab, Doumbia, Dzagoev

Real Madrid CF: Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Fabio Coentrao, Alvaro Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Callejon, Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil

Khedira's return to the starting lineup was going to be obviously key for the Champions League games. The away matches in these difficult circumstances are a perfect fit for the German midfielder, whose skills will be more useful in these matches. Granero can play against lesser Liga teams at the Bernabéu, but Real Madrid now need to prevent their rivals from scoring, both away and home games.

Remember you also have a very interesting match involving Chelsea FC and Napoli right after Real Madrid's game.

It's good to be a football fan when Champions League arrives!
