In Mourinho's Words: "Other People Might Want to Sell a Different Image, But We Are All the Same"

José Mourinho took questions from Valdebebas's press room before the team took off to Sevilla, where they will face Real Betis tonight at 22:00 local time. Mourinho talked about Karim Benzema, Guardiola's complaints about refereeing and Real Madrid's chances of winning the Liga title.

I'd like to think we will win the league. But if we don't that is because FC Barcelona will have completed a very good second half of the season. We think we can keep this form until the end of the season. We want to reach the end of the campaign in this strong position we now have.

Mourinho also unveiled that Karim Benzema might be able to get some minutes in tonight's match. The French player practiced with the rest of the squad yesterday, and even though Real Madrid will play CSKA Moscow this upcoming week, Mourinho wants to have all the players available for the match against Betis.

I'm hopeful Benzema can play tomorrow, but we will not take risks with two months left in the championship. He is working very well and we have yet to see if he'll make the cut tomorrow. I'll use the best possible lineup tomorrow despite having a Champions League match on Wednesday.

This will be Mourinho's 100th game at Real Madrid. Asked whether he would sign with the team again, the Portuguese coach was very clear.

I felt fine at Inter Milan, but I thought I had to coach Real Madrid at some point in my career in order to feel I was at one of the greats. The experience has been unforgettable and fantastic, and it is allowing me to be better at what I do.

A journalist posed a question about Real Madrid's Academy. The Bernabéu was looking forward to see Castilla's striker Álvaro Morata getting some minutes.

If Varane had come from Castilla, do you think he would not play? We're talking about quality and response. If it's good, the coaches would be happy to play canteranos. I'd like to congratulate the players that made their debut with me, none of them proved me wrong. But one thing is to play these kind of minutes and another thing is staying at the team like Casillas, Raúl or Guti did. Some of these Castilla boys will stay forever.

In response to Guardiola and Barcelona's comments about la Liga's refereeing, Mourinho did not mention anyone by name.

They said they don't talk about referees, but in the end they are talking. I'm not the perfect coach because I've criticized referees, sometimes even with emotion and harsh words. There's other people that sells another image of themselves, but at the end we are all the same.
