Greetings from the land of sand. This is the weekly segment here on Managing Madrid where I walk around my international campus and ask random people of different backgrounds and football loyalties questions about the footballing world and Real Madrid.
Kaka. Oh Kaka.
Sigh.
No one can deny that Kaka was once one of the most talented footballers in the world back at his Milan days. However, ever since he transferred to Real Madrid he has been riddled with injuries, hampered by surgeries, crowded by rumors of an exit, and benched by the emergence of one German wonderkid named Mesut Ozil.
This season Kaka has played some fantastic games, particularly against Espanyol. And he had some not so great games in which he was barely a shadow of the player he used to be. It's clear that Kaka is giving his all to help the team and regain some semblance of the form he used to possess. But is it enough?
So the question this week: What do you think about Kaka's performance so far this season?
"He is a great player and although he has been on and off the bench due to injuries he has shown great resilience as a player as he can still play really well and create magnificent plays. Kaka's performance in the past games has proved that he is still a world class player."
-Omar, Egypt, Real Madrid
"When playing with Ozil, he reminds you of his Milan days. Without him he seems lost and can't function in the formation."
-Raghid, Lebanon, Chelsea
"Although he has been on the bench, I think Kaka really does the job once he is asked to and I believe he should be a starter. He did really good vs. Barca in the Cup and became the general of the field, almost helping Real go 2-0 in the first 10 minutes."
-Saker, Palestine, Barcelona
"Attempting to make a comeback, but will never get back to his AC Milan form. Hope he gets good though."
-Phillip, Lebanon, AC Milan
