The reds have released an official statement in their official site to announce the agreement with Real Madrid to get Nuri Sahin on loan. The Turkish player will undergo the proper medical tests today to officially join Brendan Rodgers' team if everything is correct.
Liverpool will be an interesting team for Sahin to play in. He should have an important role that could allow him to grow and improve his physical and defensive skills since the Barclays Premier League is a very demanding championship for the midfielders.
The terms of the agreement have not been announced so far, but the press speculated about Liverpool paying Real Madrid 6M€ and Sahin's wages. Furthermore, the Anfield-based team would not have any purchase option after the loan is finished.
Here's Liverpool statement:
Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal, subject to the player passing a medical.
Shortly after Liverpool's statement, Real Madrid also released the following:
Real Madrid C. F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement to loan Nuri Sahin to the English club.
