Álex Fernández Suffers Real Madrid's First Injury Of The Season

Real Madrid's canterano Álex Fernández sustained an injury to his right knee--the team is calling it a ligament strain. This should keep him out for the rest of the preseason stage, and the team may send him back to Spain to undergo further medical examinations and let him rest instead of waiting for the rest of the team to come back.

Álex has been used by José Mourinho as a midfielder during the preseason, so maybe this will open the door for Nuri Sahin to return to his natural position, although of course it is always a shame to see a teammate get hurt.

The club has not released any further details of Álex's injury, though we do expect more to come out in the next few days.
