Varane didn't train with France's squad on Wednesday, but luckily enough, it seemed that he only needed some rest. The young prospect came back with the rest of his teammates on Thursday and Didier Deschamps could even start him against Australia.
Varane was sidelined for five months after the knee injury he suffered against Espanyol. He played the whole game both against Copenhaguen and Levante, so he probably needed some rest on that recently recovered knee. His absence on France's training session was only a scare and he is not experiencing a relapse on that injury, as some fans feared.
Raphäel Varane was one of the most exciting surprises of last season after he single-handedly took care of Messi and the whole Barcelona offense during the Copa del Rey Semifinals.
