CR7 Update: Ronaldo to Sit Out Galatasaray

New, comments

The Portuguese superstar suffered a minor knock to his left thigh and will miss Wednesday's Champions League game as a precaution.

Let's start with the good news: Cristiano Ronaldo is fine (his words, not mine). After undergoing tests this morning at the Sanitas clinic, the player was diagnosed with a mild hamstring injury. Still, the exact medical diagnosis has yet to be revealed, per the club's report:

According to Punto Pelota's and As' go-to correspondent for all-things-Cristiano, Manu Sainz, Cristiano will not participate in tomorrow's game as a precautionary measure. While his injury is not serious, the club will not rush back its most valuable player in a relatively meaningless game. It will be interesting to see who Carletto starts in Cristiano Ronaldo's place considering the wealth of choices at his disposal: Ángel di María, Isco, Álvaro Morata, and Jesé.

Cristiano continued his rehabilitation process inside the Valdebebas gym this morning while his teammates prepared for the Galatasaray match. Stay tuned to Managing Madrid as we continue to bring you more on this story.
