Osasuna Vs Real Madrid, Liga BBVA 2013-2014: Match Preview

In the second to last game in La Liga before the Christmas break, we visit Osasuna with the goal of catching up with Barça and Atlético in the table and put some pressure on them before they face Villarreal and Valencia respectively.

Just after finishing the first stage in UEFA Champions League with an excellent performance, it is time for Real Madrid to switch again the attention to La Liga. Tomorrow, the merengues will visit El Sadar, in Pamplona, to play against Osasuna.

It would not be smart to think this will be an easy game. Although Osasuna are not a very strong team on paper, and they are not in their best condition lately -only three points in the last four games- they have usually put us in big trouble in their stadium. Their pride, their tough way of playing against us and the support of their fans, who are known for being not Madrid-friendly, will be their best weapons to face us. It is also worth remembering that two months ago Barcelona only managed to get a draw there, in what was their only loss of points until their recent defeat against Athletic de Bilbao.

It seems that our coach has all the players in the roster available for this match, except for Varane, who is still working to get his knee in the best shape, and Coentrao, who is not yet recovered from his muscular injury. The Spanish newspaper As reported this morning that Modric suffered a small bruise against Copenhague last Tuesday and, although he is fine, his spot will be handled by Illarramendi.

As a result, it is very likely that Ancelotti's lineup for tomorrow's game will be the following: Diego López; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Alonso, Illarramendi; Bale, Isco, Ronaldo; Benzema. Casemiro, Jesé and Morata will be waiting in the bench for an opportunity in the second half and, were As's information true, Luka Modric would also get in in case the game got complicated in the second half.

What about you, fellows? What is your prediction for tomorrow's game, and which is the lineup you would like to see?
