Cadena SER Interviews Florentino Pérez: 'I Want Zidane To Be The Leader Of This Project'

The President conceded an hour-long interview with José Ramón de la Morena, one of the most famous journalists in Spain. Pérez started his campaign by saying that Zinedine Zidane will be very relevant in the near future of the club and also confirming that Dani Carvajal will join the team this very same summer.

Real Madrid's President will likely be elected for a new term this next Sunday, but he still wants to talk to some of the most famous programs in the Spanish media to ensure some votes. Pérez didn't say much of anything, but he did unveil what will be Zidane's role in his new Real Madrid.

Zidane is a man that loves the club, he really does live for it. I want him to have a very important role in the club, deciding the moves alongside whoever the new coach is.

Florentino Pérez denied any possible Carlo Ancelotti rumor. He did say that the club will start working on potential transfer moves after he wins the elections.

He was also asked about Neymar.

The whole deal would've cost us about 150M€, and that would've broken the synergies within the club. It's true that we had a good chance of signing him three years ago. We tried the same this year but we ended up ruling him out because of the price. But I don't know how much Barcelona has paid for him.

Dani Carvajal will also return to the club this summer.

Yes, I can speak about Carvajal. He is a lifeborn madridista, he will not have to wait longer for his comeback to Real Madrid.

So, with Zinedine Zidane in command, maybe his words about Gareth Bale start to make sense. The French magician said some days ago the following about Bale:

I watch Tottenham games just to watch Bale. After Messi and Ronaldo, there's clearly him.
