London Newspapers: Arsenal Agree Terms With Pipita Higuain

With Perez in London, attention has shifted to White Hart Lane and the possible transfer of Gareth Bale. But The Daily Mail and The Guardian believes another London club wants a transfer in the other direction.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal FC have agreed terms with Gonzalo Higuain and are determined to bring him to London. The Gunners seem to be in a better position to sign Higuain, even though Juventus seemed the club most likely to get him only a month ago.

The Gunners are reportedly going to triple his salary, no small consideration for Pipita who makes a little more than half of what his competition, Karim Benzema, earns annually at Madrid.

If he goes for the reported fee of 25 million (£22 million) he will be Arsenal FC's record signing by many millions of pounds.

The Daily Mail also reports that Arsenal have been a fan of the player since his time at River Plate.

The Guardian goes into greater detail, including the proposed salary.

Arsenal are anxious to get everything settled before their pre-season tour to South East Asia on July 11.
