The 2012-2013 season is over. Mourinho's three years with Real Madrid are already behind us and the Portuguese coach will now try to raise titles in London. The players will return to Valdebebas in a couple months though, and what's better than doing that with a Managing Madrid Award in your pocket?
Welcome to the 2012-2013 Edition of Managing Madrid Official Awards.
2012-2013 Player of the Year Award: Cristiano Ronaldo
This might be a perennial award for Cristiano Ronaldo since he joined Real Madrid. Scoring 55 goals in 55 matches with a 1.0 ratio, the Portuguese player has had a good scoring season but certainly not his best. In terms of playing football, he's done brilliantly without the help of Benzema and Higuaín, mostly invisible throughout the season.
Runner-up: Raphäel Varane
2012-2013 Most Improved Player: Raphäel Varane
What a season for Varane. The French defender has earned a spot in the starting lineup for the next season. His best game was the one against FC Barcelona in the Bernabéu (Copa del Rey first leg), where he completely dominated Messi. He saved a goal in the very same line and also cleared the danger off a good chance by Cesc Fàbregas.
Runner-up: Fàbio Coentrao
2012-2013 Most Disappointing Player: Ángel Di María
Terrible season for the Argentinian. He was key in his first two seasons with Mourinho but struggled this whole year.
Runner-up: Karim Benzema
2012-2013 Goal of the Season: Karim Benzema Vs. Ajax
2012-2013 Moment of the Season: Cristiano Ronaldo And Jose Mourinho Vs. Manchester City
Runner-up: Luka Modric Vs. Manchester United
