Real Madrid's official site is reporting Nacho Fernández's contract extension. Nacho has been a part of the club since age 12, much like fellow defender Dani Carvajal. Having progressed through all levels of Real Madrid's academy levels, Nacho has been hovering around the first team since the 2010/11 campaign.
Though being largely a utility player last season, Nacho has been adept at filling in all across Madrid's back line. He has visibly improved his game over the years, perhaps culminating in a strong man-of-the-match type performance in May's 1-1 draw at Espanyol.
From his Twitter account, the player had this to say concerning his extension:
