Real Madrid Kick Off Preseason Work

Carlo Ancelotti finally wore Real Madrid's preseason uniform. His players got back to work this Monday, and only Arbeloa, Ramos, Casillas, Albiol, Jesé and Marcelo were allowed to have vacation for a little longer due to their national duties in the Confederations Cup and the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco, Illarramendi and most of their teammates got back to work this Monday morning. First, Real Madrid's medical staff made sure everything was in order with the players. After that, the players had their first training session in Valdebebas (17:30 CET).

Raphäel Varane and Xabi Alonso are still recovering from their injuries and thus they missed the session, but Real's new reinforcements Isco, Carvajal, Casemiro and Illarramendi stepped on the pitch and took care of Carlo Ancelotti's first exercises as Real Madrid's coach.

Close to Ancelotti were Paul Clement and Zinedine Zidane as well, while Diego López, Adán -who is expected to leave the club soon- and Jesús worked with Villiam Vecchi, Ancelotti's assistant coach for the goalkeepers. Real Madrid will now have the rest of the week full of training sessions before playing against Bournemouth this next Sunday (20:45 CET).

Casillas, Ramos, Albiol, Jesé, Marcelo and Arbeloa will have to rejoin the squad in Los Ángeles.
