Bernabéu Bites, 07.18.2013: Varane Rejoins the Squad

In today's edition of the Bernabéu Bites, we bring you Varane and Alonso rejoining the squad, more Higuaín rumors and Ancelotti trying to use Cheryshev as a left back.

  • Even though Xabi Alonso rejoined the squad for a little while this Thursday morning, his final recovery could be postponed until October. That means that Real Madrid will need to find a replacement for the first Liga BBVA fixtures, so Illarramendi and Luka Modric might be excited about the opportunity. But careful, because Casemiro seems to be training well and could get some minutes also. The coaching staff doesn't want to send him on loan, apparently.
  • The Gareth Bale saga continues. 'As' reports that Florentino Pérez will meet Tottenham's representatives this Sunday when the team visits England to play against Bournemouth. According to that same story, Tottenham would be willing to increase Bale's salary in order to prevent him from joining Real Madrid.
  • Napoli want to sign Gonzalo Higuaín, Marca says. But Real Madrid wants to get 40M€ after Manchester City paid 28M€ for Negredo. If the clubs interested don't increase their offers, Higuaín could stay in Real Madrid, apparently.
