As we told you some days ago, Raúl Albiol has signed a four-year contract with Napoli. It took long to confirm the deal but Rafa Benítez's club made it official this Sunday morning:
Ora è ufficiale @R_Albiol è un giocatore del #SSCNapoli per i prossimi 4 anni #BienvenidoRaul
— Official SSC Napoli (@sscnapoli) July 21, 2013
Albiol will join José Callejón and Rafa Benítez in Naples. He played for Benítez ten years ago when both of them were in Valencia.
Raúl Albiol has been a Real Madrid player for the last four seasons. He played an important role in his first season under Manuel Pellegrini, but failed at getting many minutes in the last three seasons under José Mourinho. Sergio Ramos' move to the center back position pulled him back in the rotation, and with Varane's brilliant play in the last months, Albiol had no hopes to this upcoming season. He will be an important player for Benítez and will have a chance of playing in Brazil's 2014 FIFA World Cup.
