Gareth Bale to Real Madrid: Imminent Deal, Marca Says

Both 'Marca' and 'As' agree. According to their reports, alongside with Daily Mail's, Gareth Bale has refused to practice with the Tottenham squad these past days. André Villas-Boas said Bale had a knock, but 'Marca' goes even further and reports that Bale signing for Real Madrid is imminent, a matter of hours.

It's true that Marca said the exact same thing one week before signing Ancelotti, so their reports were a little misguided that time. Anyway, today's cover of 'Marca' reports that Bale is trying to convince Daniel Levy to accept Real Madrid's bid. 'As' quotes 'The Daily Mail' and believes that the player is refusing to play for Tottenham. According to these two papers, Bale is in perfect physical shape but is also angry with Tottenham's board for refusing Real's latest bid.

An imminent ending of this transfer-saga could seem likely. The player will reportedly join Real Madrid in the Los Angeles preseason stage. At least, that's what Real Madrid will try to do. That way, Bale would have the time to play a couple of friendlies and join the squad before La Liga starts. Modric had some rough first months during the 2012-2013 season because he needed some time to adapt.

Still, Daniel Levy is a very tough negotiator and those who argue that Bale won't join Real Madrid until the end of August could be right. It will all depend on Real's willingness to spend big money soon and accept Levy's requirements.
