Asier Illarramendi Back With the Squad

Asier Illarramendi has recovered from his muscle injuries that sidelined him for the whole preseason stage.

Very good news for Real Madrid after Xabi Alonso's surgery. His main replacement, Asier Illarramendi, made his return to the squad in today's training session. Illarra was able to complete the whole session with the squad after he spent more than one month recovering from his muscle injury.

It's necessary to point out that Illarramendi played every match in the U21 UEFA Eurocup this summer. That could be the reason behind Illarra's injuries. Now, after Real Madrid's doctors were patient with his recovery, it seems that the midfielder will be able to step on the pitch soon.

Illarramendi will be a very good asset for Carlo Ancelotti, specially after Xabi Alonso's latest injury. Alonso had surgery this past Thursday in Murcia and the doctors are hopeful about seeing him back in action in early November. Although Marcelo had to miss three months with the same injury, it seems that Alonso's experience with similar wounds could speed up his recovery.
