Tottenham Hotspurs manager André Villas-Boas confirmed to the press that Bale will play for Real Madrid this 2013-2014 season. The Portuguese coach spoke to the press in a pre-match press conference and admitted that the move could be completed soon:
Yes, it could happen, very, very soon. It's Gareth's dream to play for Real Madrid. We wish him all best if he leaves because we had great memories with him.
Villas-Boas also had something to say about the transfer fee:
This transfer can happen in many different ways but we can at least say that Tottenham will be involved in the world-record transfer.
André Villas-Boas revealed that the Spurs are thinking about fining Gareth Bale for his behaviour during this saga, especially after missing the team's last two training sessions this Tuesday and Wednesday.
It's good to have the confirmation about Bale's signing for Real Madrid, although Villas-Boas' words indicate the club will likely pay more than 94M€ for him.
