Mesut Özil Doesn't Want to Leave

'Marca' reporting a new chapter about Mesut Özil's saga.

Alexander Hassenstein

Mesut Özil would not want to sign for Arsenal FC. At least, that's what Marca reports. Real Madrid would reportedly want to sell the German playmaker for around 47M€ but the player and his father wouldn't be keen to leave the Spanish capital.

There were rumours about Mustafa Özil (Mesut's father) wanting to get his son a new contract. After Florentino Pérez reportedly refused to increase his salary, Mustafa went ahead and offered his son to some Premier League teams. Arsène Wenger wants to sign Özil and reached a 45M€-deal with Real Madrid. Los blancos would be willing to let Özil go for that price and everything was expected to be confirmed soon.

But now, Mesut wants to stay, apparently. More news coming up later today.
