This 2013 has been undoubtedly Managing Madrid's best year. Our traffic has increased a lot, and so has our community.
It's quite easy to say, but this time it's also true. I'm really proud of having this diverse community which respects everyone's thoughts. We all have our favorite players, but those arguments never reach a personal level and everybody tries to win the debate with stats and solid arguments, and that's encouraging to see in an Internet community.
We always have to hear that Internet is that crazy place where lonely people try to get into verbal fights with others. They're afraid of the power of the Internet. One time, Spanish journalist Santiago Segurola, left Twitter because it was a drunken bar. Well, both Twitter and this community show how wrong he was.
I'm happy to say that we are getting known, people. This 2013 I had credentials to most of Real Madrid's matches. We could also cover Real's preseason stage in UCLA. The club knows what we're doing. We're not As or Marca, but our job is getting rewarded. I also went to Mestalla and Xàtiva's stadium to cover both matches against Real Madrid. 2013 has been an incredibly productive year from this standpoint. This is the future.
We only missed the trophies. Unfortunately, we could not raise any. I still trust the players on this squad. I believe they will give their best to make madridistas all around the world happy. Starting with Cristiano Ronaldo and the Ballon D'Or and finishing with the 2014 UEFA Champions League. It will not be easy, but we can only hope for a good and stable project for many years to come. That's the shortest way to silverware.
I would also like to thank José Mourinho for the work he did throughout his three years with the club. We all expected a bit more, to be honest, but we will never forget those three intense years.
Here is to much success during this 2014. I'd like to wish you, in behalf of the whole Managing Madrid staff, a good, safe and healthy year with many trophies raised by our boys in white.
Happy New Year 2014!
