Carlo Ancelotti: "Diego López Has a Virus, Casillas Could Start Tomorrow"

The Italian coach revealed that Real Madrid's Liga BBVA goalkeeper has a stomach virus and could be out of Sunday's match against Espanyol.

As always, Carlo Ancelotti spoke in his pre-match press conference. When José Luis Sánchez asked him about Diego López, who was reportedly assisted by one of the doctors during the training session, Ancelotti said the following.

Yes, he has a virus. We will have to wait and see, he's on the list, but if he cannot play, Casillas will start tomorrow.

That answer brought some happiness to some journalists. 'Diario As' soon inquired about Casillas' chance to regain the spot back if he had a good match:

No, this will not change. Unless one of them has a long period of struggles, Diego will be the keeper for La Liga and Casillas the one for the cups. And they are both doing great, so this will not change.

Álvaro Morata could be trying to get a loan deal to improve as a player. At least that's what some reports in the Spanish and British press indicate. But Carlo Ancelotti doesn't like those reports and expects Morata to stay.

If any club comes asking, the answer will be the same. Morata stays.

And finally, Ancelotti said that Ángel Di María could start the match.

Yes, he's doing well. He is happy and ready, and considering that he is also fresh, he could start the match, yes.

In other news, Xabi Alonso is back on the list, while Jesé Rodríguez will have this weekend to rest after the cramp he suffered against Osasuna. It should not take him long to recover from it, though.
