Real Betis Vs Real Madrid, Liga BBVA 2013-2014: Player Ratings

A good overall performance thanks to a brilliant match by Modric and the 'BBC' trio.

Gonzalo Arroyo Moreno

Diego López: B: Diego didn't have much work to do. This is yet another clean sheet for him after his defensive line showed some improvements since the year 2014 started.

Dani Carvajal: B+: Another solid game by the hyperactive right back. He always gives his best for the team and had a good offensive contribution. His defensive struggles are not there anymore.

Pepe: A: He's arguably been Real Madrid's best defender since the 2013-2014 season started. Today, he showed that he has finally recovered from the injury he had one year ago.

Ramos: A-: Picked an unnecessary yellow card but still was solid enough to prove that he is finally coming back from his terrible start of the season.

Marcelo: B-: Although he was decent, the fans should always expect more from Marcelo, especially on offense.

Alonso: B-: Alright, he dictated the tempo well, but Alonso probably was Real Madrid's weakest midfielder.

Modric: A+: Outstanding match by Luka Modric. This assist should speak for itself.

Di María: A: Another solid game on the midfield. Could he be finding his real spot on this team there? He also scored Real's fourth goal. Well done!

Bale: B-: The Welsh player scored Real's second goal off a good free-kick, but he still was not very comfortable on the right wing.

Cristiano Ronaldo: A: Brilliant match by Cristiano Ronaldo. He scored an astonishing goal from long range and showed how fast he is against Betis' right back.

Benzema: A: Benzema is keeping his good streak alive, and he is also playing really well. Another offensive contribution that should be noted.

Illarramendi: B: Ancelotti introduced Illarramendi and gave Ángel Di María some rest. The young midfielder can do better.

Nacho: B-: The weakest defender. He replaced Ramos and let Jorge Molina turn around that gave him a good scoring chance. His minutes should decrease when Varane comes back.

Morata: B: A good effort. But he cannot have Jesé's impact. If Ancelotti needs to choose between Morata and Jesé to change a game, the decision should be easy. He scored the fifth goal after Ronaldo tried an acrobatic shot. He should be more confident now.
