After being Real Madrid's second option off the bench, Álvaro Morata is not finding his spot on Carlo Ancelotti's plans. It all has gone wrong for him. First, Karim Benzema's performances have been brilliant. The French striker started the season really slowly but he has now scored 15 goals in 29 appearances for the club during the 2013-2014 season and more importantly, he's creating chances for his teammates and even helping the midfielders at dictating the tempo of the game.
And secondly, another unexpected canterano has taken the spotlight away from Morata. Since Jesé scored the game-winner against Valencia, the 20-year old winger has put on a show every time he has been given the chance to be on the pitch. His brilliant play against Osasuna where he assisted Ángel Di María is a perfect example of Jesé's skills as a player.

More on Jesé and Morata
This season, Álvaro Morata has played 470 minutes for Real Madrid. Some fans wanted to see Morata in the starting lineup after he finished the 2013 UEFA U21 Eurocup as the top scorer. But unfortunately for those fans and the player himself, Jesé's ability to play in multiple positions -even the center forward- means that he's been on the pitch for 597 minutes.
There is a saying about Real Madrid that says that canteranos need to "tirar la puerta abajo" -bring the door down-. Jesé is doing so and has earned every minute he has played. On the other hand, Morata's late goals against Almería and Betis -although he scored the equalizer against Levante- are not enough for Carlo Ancelotti.
It's true that Morata always gives his best for the team. He is a true professional that wants to succeed in this club. His commitment is something that cannot be put into question and he is a decent player for this kind of roster. But while a loan deal would definitely help his career, Jesé Rodríguez already is an important player for Real Madrid and has made a lot of progress this season.
