Good news for Ancelotti and his coaching staff as they recover both Varane and Benzema for this Champions League match. They should obviously be ready for El Clásico as well unless something unexpected happens this Wednesday at Anfield. Benzema and Varane missed Real Madrid's 0-5 win against Levante because of an illness.
As reported this Monday, Gareth Bale will not be able to feature in this game -- and El Clásico -- with a muscle injury on his glutear region.
In other news, Fàbio Coentrao is still not available for Carlo Ancelotti, so the Italian coach will need to be very careful with Marcelo in order to have the Brazilian left back ready for Saturday's Clásico against FC Barcelona. Sergio Ramos misses this match as well in order to be ready for El Clásico.
