Cristiano Ronaldo angry about El Clásico being played on Saturday

The Portuguese astro does not understand why it was scheduled for Saturday having Real Madrid played against Liverpool this same Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo was interviewed after Real Madrid's 0-3 win against Liverpool and clearly shared his views about El Clásico this Saturday.

For those of you who don't understand Spanish, Cristiano Ronaldo says he "doesn't understand why the game is played on Saturday", adding that "every professional footballer knows that is not the same to rest two days than being able to play three days after your last game. The game should have been scheduled for Sunday". The Portuguese player also notes that they will not "use this as an excuse" because they will "play well and win".

Cristiano Ronaldo obviously has a point here. Although it is true that this sounds like an excuse, there's no point for the Spanish Liga BBVA to schedule this game on a Saturday when Sunday is available. Both teams would have probably agreed on this possibility and Real Madrid would have had more than two training sessions -- just one, as this Thursday will be used to recover -- to prepare for the game.

FC Barcelona played at home against Ajax on Tuesday, so Real Madrid will need to overcome this small physical advantage Messi and co. might have this next Saturday if los blancos want to get the three points and defeat their biggest rivals.
