Many people agree that Ronaldo is the clear favourite to win this season's FIFA Ballon D'Or, so it is not a great surprise to see him in the shortlist of nominees to such a trophy. As expected, the recently named FourFourTwo's best player of the year 2014 will fight Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer to lift his third Golden Ball.
La Décima has been a fantastic milestone in the history of football, and so it is not surprising at all to see Real Madrid's candidates for all the prizes (if we stick to the male category) that will be delivered in Zurich, on January 12th. Our coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is joined by Joachim Löw and Diego Simeone in the shortlist for the FIFA World Coach of the Year, while James Rodríguez will compete for the Puskas Award for the best goal of the season, thanks to his fantastic screamer against Uruguay in the World Cup Round of 16.
Finally, there's also a huge proportion of madridistas between the fifty-five candidates to define the FifPro World XI:
Defenders: Carvajal, Marcelo, Pepe, Ramos, Varane.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, James, (Alonso and Di María are also on the list).
Strikers: Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
