Ancelotti: "Modric could return by mid-January"

Ancelotti addressed the team's injuries, first of all. James and Modric could be ready sooner than expected.

We hope to have James ready and available for the Club World Cup Final if we reach it. Next Thursday he could be back with the squad. So far, Modric's recovery is going well too. He could train again by mid-January, more or less.

Real Madrid have hit their stride record-wise. But that doesn't mean much for Ancelotti.

Whatever happens over the next few matches, this has been a great year for Real Madrid. It's been fantastic. The record is important, but it's not a title. We're doing good things.

Sami Khedira will miss Friday's game with a concussion.

Khedira will travel with us to Morocco. He might not be ready for the Semifinal, but he will be available for the Final too. Illarramendi could play alone in the midfield, and Kroos could move forward a little. But for the time being, there's no need to change his position because he's playing well.

Will Real Madrid make any signings this season? It depends, Ancelotti says.

We are waiting to see how Modric and James recover. We will make a decision after addressing Modric and James' status, after Christmas, but Medran is an option.

Brazil head coach Dunga fired at Marcelo by saying that he did not contribute offensively during this year's World Cup.

Brazil's World Cup was bad because of how they played. Marcelo is one of the world's best wing backs, if not the best.
