Florentino Pérez's speech to the press translated

Real Madrid celebrated the traditional Christmas lunch with the journalists, and our president had a few words to share.

We want to thank you for your daily efforts to deliver the best information to our associates. We believe in self-demand and we like the truthful and responsible information, full of constructive criticism that helps us to improve. Thank you for your job. My commitment is to maintain the best possible relationship with the press and we will try to continue like this, since you give us the chance to reach out to millions of supporters and, therefore, pass on our values.

Football has to be a party for everyone. Each one of us needs to make an effort to erradicate any sign of violence, racism or xenophobia. Real Madrid will not be tolerant with violent people.

The madridismo will never forget the year 2014, because of Di Stéfano's passing above all. The legend he is became gigantic, and he will remain in the heart of every Real Madrid supporter forever. He left us, but he showed us the way to keep making our dreams come true.

La Décima exemplifies that Real Madrid never surrender and, curiously enough, that was the last game our Honorary President got to watch. This year has been very good, spectacular, with the Copa del Rey and the Tenth. We enjoyed Cristiano Ronaldo's Ballon D'Or, but also with the basketball team, who won the Copa del Rey and was on the verge of winning the Euroleague. We will try harder to win it this season, because the final will be held in Madrid.

We are in great condition right now, and we are happy, but there is no place for complacency. There are more challenges we need to conquer. We must never lose the ambition to improve, but we have to do so while remaining humble. Now, we face History in the Club World Cup, and we are leading the football and basketball leagues. We face the next year with the intention to win the football's Eleventh and the basketball's Ninth.

We wish all of you a very happy new year.
