This has certainly been a very good weekend for Real Madrid. After earning a somewhat sloppy and yet forceful win against Almería on Friday, FC Barcelona could only get a draw against Getafe and Atlético de Madrid lost at home to Villarreal today. Even Sevilla, fourth team in the table, couldn't beat Eibar this weekend, so all of Real's immediate pursuers dropped points.
That means that Ancelotti's men are now leading the Liga BBVA table with a four-point lead to FC Barcelona and 7 points ahead of Atlético de Madrid.
