Chicharito's agent, Eduardo Hernández, claimed his client is not keen on leaving Real Madrid in this coming transfer window per AS English. The Mexican international is currently on loan from Manchester United, and Chicharito will at least end the 2014-15 season in Madrid white.
"A few days ago I was with the Real Madrid directors and Javier. He will not leave the club (in January)," Eduardo Hernández said.
It seems both Chicharito and his agent are aware of his position on the depth chart, but he's the only true backup to Karim Benzema. His agent acknowledged this, saying "Real Madrid are a team full of impressive players and obviously to earn a spot is difficult, but Javier has a great quality in working hard."
As for Chicharito's future beyond the 2014-15 season, well, that's still up in the air.
"If Madrid do not exercise the option to buy it will not be until the end of the season. In any case, we have to consult with the board of Manchester United to know what the future holds for Chicharito," said Hernández.
Ancelotti praised Chicharito's value to the team earlier in the season, and he's certainly a quality player. But barring injury to Benzema, it's hard to see a situation in which Chicharito gets starts in meaningful games.
