Real Madrid - San Lorenzo, FIFA Club World Cup: Player ratings

It is hard to play great football against such an a aggresive defence, but our players managed to get a victory and become World Champions.

  • Casillas: 6. Although San Lorenzo's offensive production was barely inexistent, he saved their very few shots on goal in the end of the game. He did a great job lifting the trophy as well.
  • Carvajal: 7. Great game on defence, as he performed with great intensity against a really tough opposition. Nevertheless, he was not brilliant in offensive tasks today.
  • Pepe: 8. Fantastic performance. If Pepe is focused, it's hard to find a better centerback than him in the world.
  • Ramos: 8. A good game by Ramos as well. He got unnecesarily booked in the first half but, once again, opened the scoreboard with a header. Pure clutch.
  • Marcelo: 6. His performance was being solid and he was relatively helpful when attacking until he got injured, just before the break.
  • Kroos: 7. In a very hard game for Toni, who was continuously being fouled by San Lorenzo's players, he managed to build Real Madrid's possessions with his astonishing pass accuracy.
  • Isco: 6. Definitely, not the best game Isco has played with the white T-shirt. Correct in Real Madrid's side of the field, but never able to break San Lorenzo's defence with his dribbles or passes.
  • James: 4. A really poor game by James, who seemed totally invisible tonight. He will need to work hard to recover his best level after Christmas.
  • Ronaldo: 5. He showed an incredible willingness to help the team and score, but it was not his night.
  • Benzema: 7. Good game by Benzema, exhibiting his fantastic positioning and game-reading like he usually does.
  • Bale: 7. A good performance by Bale as well, finding open space to run in several ocassions. He scored the winning goal.
  • Coentrao: 7. He entered the field just after the break and filled Marcelo's boots quite convincingly. He will need to keep it up in case the Brazilian is injured after the Christmas break.
  • Varane and Arbeloa did not play enough minutes to deserve a mark.
