Luka Modric gives estimation for his return

Real Madrid have been missing Luka Modric's presence in the midfield line since the Croatian player got seriously injured during a FIFA break. Carlo Ancelotti's men have managed to keep a very convincing winning streak alive, but the quality of their performances has not been as great since Modric's injury.

The midfielder spoke to Sportske Novosti about his recovery process.

I will not rush it, but I will be ready for the important battles. If everything goes according to plan, estimations say that I should be back on the pitch by mid-February. When I first knew about my injury I got very sad, but then I thought that it's better to get these injuries before the crucial matches.

If Modric is indeed going to be ready by February, Real Madrid might not need to sign any other player during this next transfer window.

The player also gave his opinion on the FIFA Ballon D'Or and Real Madrid's chances of winning another Champions League this season.

Cristiano deserves to win it. And I believe Real Madrid can be the first team that win the trophy two times in a row.
