Real Madrid ban 17 fans responsible for offensive chants towards Messi and Catalonia

This is controversial. Apparently, the Spanish LFP was willing to fine Real Madrid because some fans decided to sing "Fu***** Barça, Fu***** Catalonia" and "Messi retarded" during Saturday's match against Celta de Vigo. These songs are certainly tasteless, but one will now expect the same kind of tenacity when Cristiano Ronaldo hears the famous "That Portuguese, son of a b**** is".

One way or another, Real Madrid have reacted rapidly, finding and banning 17 people responsible for initiating those chants, according to Cadena COPE's Paco González.

This will likely avoid the LFP's fine, but if they still decide to go after this kind of chants, they will keep their hands busy, as similar incidents happen in every match played in the Spanish Liga BBVA.
