Apparently, star midfielder Paul Pogba doesn't want to sign a contract extension with Juventus. The Italian club knows that they could get a good market value for Pogba this summer, two years before his contract ends and after a FIFA World Cup in which Juventus' number 6 will start for France.
Pogba, aged 20 -he will turn 21 in just a week-, will likely be leaving Juventus. And according to Marca, PSG and Real Madrid are fighting to sign him. While PSG might offer him a bigger salary and a place in his homeland, Real Madrid do have Zinedine Zidane and Raphäel Varane to convince him. Varane is very close to Pogba, they've been playing together for France's youth squads, while Zidane always means a lot to every French player. Zidane played a key part in Varane's 10M€ move to Real Madrid and has also been very important for Karim Benzema to perform well consistently.
Furthermore, Pogba would fit Ancelotti's 4-3-3 perfectly. He has Khedira's work-rate but he is also skilled. Pogba would definitely be an upgrade in that position. No question. While he has the body of a defensive midfielder, and he can play there, he's more comfortable in Modric or Khedira's position.
Paul Pogba would be a huge signing for Real Madrid. He is going to dominate the position in the upcoming years. But he would not come cheap. Juventus will likely ask for 50 or 60M€ to let him go. Still, this is the only position that Real Madrid should be looking to improve other than a cheap, backup striker. So expect Real Madrid to go quite hard after this 20-year old midfielder.
