Iker Casillas: B+ He made a terrible mistake on a cross by Reus. He poorly deflected the ball, which ended right in front of Mkhitaryan, but Pepe stopped him from scoring. Casillas made a great save on Reus, but a handball earlier denied the play.
Dani Carvajal: A Brilliantly assisted Bale on Madrid's first goal and was pretty good defending, including a couple good tackles inside his box.
Pepe: A+ Man of the match. Brilliant game by Pepe. He was an iron curtain and even saved a sure goal by Borussia right at the goal line. Absolutely PERFECT.
Sergio Ramos: B- His recent obsession with attacking gave Borussia two great chances on counter attacks. He was often out of position and that nearly translated into a goal for the German squad. He needs to calm down a bit.
Fabio Coentrao: A- Fantastic game by the Portuguese left back. He was very solid on defense and kept recovering in Borussia's territory. His only bad play came at the 58th minute, when Reus got past him and crossed the ball that Casillas failed to properly clear.
Xabi Alonso: B He recovered the ball that ended up being Isco's goal. Really solid job both as a midfielder and as a defender. He even made a couple plays inside his own box.
Isco: A His first half was brilliant. Scored Madrid's second goal immediately after he started a counter attack. Whenever he touches the ball, you know good things are going to happen. His second half wasn't as good, but it was a great performance overall.
Luka Modric: A Great game by Modric. At the 57th minute, he brilliantly recovered the ball and assisted Ronaldo for the 3-0. Every pass by him looked like solid gold. His change of pace was brilliant once again.
Gareth Bale: A- Scored a great goal to make it 1-0. The team's most dangerous player, he had at least three more chances to score again, including a fantastic free kick that was saved by Weidenfeller. He wasted a couple counters with the score already 3-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo: A- It was his 100th Champions League match. As usual, he kept trying to create danger, including a good free kick that was saved by Weidenfeller. His effort was rewarded in the second half as he scored his team's third goal. However, he wasn't very accurate and lost a few balls, including one that almost ended in a goal for Borussia. Had to leave the game because of injury.
Karim Benzema: B- Participated in the first goal and almost scored on a couple chances but Weidenfeller denied him. He couldn't score, but was able to create dangerous chances.
Carlo Ancelotti: B+ He gave Isco a chance and it worked really well for him. Illarra iced the game for him in the end. He should've tried to go for a fourth goal. Instead, he focused on not allowing a goal, which isn't a bad thing, but that fourth goal looked imminent.
Asier Illarramendi (71', Isco): B He was good limiting Borussia's chances in the final minutes. Good in recovery and that slowing down the pace a little to ice the game.
Álvaro Morata (74', Benzema): C+ He found himself inside the box a couple times but not under the best of circumstances. His effort was good as usual but didn't look really sharp with the ball. He had a good chance near the end of the game but was beaten by Hummels.
Casemiro (79', Ronaldo): B Didn't have a lot of time to do a lot but contributed in recovery tasks.
